HAPPY COOKING!!! <br /> <br /> <br />Ingredients:- <br /> <br />For Bisi Bele Bhat Powder:- <br />7-8 bedgi red chillies <br />1” cinnamon <br />3 cloves <br />10 black peppercorns <br />1 tsp khus khus <br />1 javitri / mace <br />1 tsp cumin seeds <br />1 green cardamom <br />1 tsp urid dal <br />1 tsp channa dal <br />10 methi seeds <br />1 ½ tbsp coriander seeds <br />1 tbsp fresh coconut <br />A pinch of hing <br /> <br />For the Rice:- <br />¾ cup rice <br />½ cup toor dal <br />8 shallots <br />Tamarind to the size of a lemon <br />1 tsp jaggery <br />Salt to taste <br />1 tsp ghee <br />½ cup peas <br />¼ cup French beans <br />¼ cup capsicum <br />½ cup carrots diced <br /> <br />For Seasoning:- <br />3 tsp ghee <br />Few curry leaves <br />Pinch of asafetitda <br />½ tsp mustard seeds <br /> <br />Method:- <br />1. Dry roast all the ingredients for the powder and cool. Then grind to a fine powder and keep aside. To this add the jaggery, salt and tamarind paste. <br />2. Wash the rice and dal and pressure cook them till done <br />3. Heat a tbsp of the ghee and sauté the vegetables till almost done <br />4. Then add the spice powder paste that we have made and mix well <br />5. Add the cooked rice, dal and mix well <br />6. Add some water, salt and some tamarind paste and cover and cook on a low flame <br />7. Heat the remaining ghee and add the asafetida. Splutter the mustard seeds in it and add the curry leaves and then lace the bisi bele bhaat with this temper and serve.
